Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced that Dr. Quoc Hung Tran is the recipient of the esteemed 2023 Schulich Award of Excellence for Faculty in Community or Distributed Sites.
Hospital officials say this prestigious award recognizes Dr. Tran’s exceptional dedication and commitment to the learning needs of trainees, making him an outstanding faculty educator in the medical field.
Dr. Tran has long been a champion for medical education in the Chatham-Kent region and is a strong supporter of faculty and trainees, hospital officials added.
The Schulich Award of Excellence for Faculty in Community or Distributed Sites is presented annually to a faculty educator who demonstrates remarkable interest and enthusiasm for the education of trainees.
“I would like to congratulate Dr. Tran of CKHA on receiving The Schulich Award of Excellence for Faculty in Community or Distributed Sites,” said Dr. Susan Munro, Regional Academic Director, Chatham-Kent Academy, Schulich Distributed Education, in a media release.
“Dr. Tran modelled a way of understanding a wealth of knowledge in medicine, both clinically and in the compassion and art of medicine as well. Our Residents added that he always considered their ideas and answers and made them feel valued. He is a great teacher and an inspiration for medical trainees and the entire medical community.”
The award committee assessed numerous factors, including leadership, teaching ability, accessibility, being an exemplary role model, as well as research and service, all of which Dr. Tran excels in.
“Dr. Tran’s exceptional achievements and contributions to medical education have positively impacted the lives of countless trainees,” said Dr. Pervez Faruqi, Chief of Staff, CKHA, in a media release.
“His unwavering dedication, exceptional teaching abilities, and willingness to go above and beyond have made him an inspiration to all. We are proud to celebrate his well-deserved achievement.”
