Youth arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:20 a.m., police responded to Centre Street in Chatham for an assault investigation.

Through investigation, police learned two youths engaged in a verbal altercation that escalated physically.

A 16-year-old Chatham-Kent youth was arrested and charged with assault.

She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of July 10, 2023.

Woman arrested for being unlawful in a dwelling

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2 p.m., police responded to Regent Street in Blenheim for a disturbance.

Police learned the woman entered the home uninvited and verbally argued with the occupants.

Police confirmed she was bound by conditions of a release order not to go to the address.

The 26-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order and being unlawful in a dwelling.

She was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:20 p.m., police responded to a traffic complaint on Bear Line Road in Dover Township.

Police arrived in the area and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The officer believed the man was driving while impaired, and he was arrested.

The officer also confirmed that the man’s driver’s license was suspended and prohibited from driving.

The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

The 65-year-old Dover Centre man was charged with impaired driving, driving while under suspension and six counts of operating a motor vehicle while prohibited.

He was released with conditions and a future court date of June 19, 2023. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.
