Marilyn Miles

As in Marilyn fashion she left this world as she lived it, on her own terms and in her own time.

Marilyn Marie Miles (nee Stevens) left us on June 25, 2023 peacefully in her sleep in her 86th year.

Marilyn lived a life full of family and friends, she had a quick wit and a great sense of humour.

She could always make you laugh, and you never knew what she was going to say next.

Whether while working on the line at Waltec, or the kitchen at Southgate Centre or talking with Staff at Woodingford Lodge, she always had a story or a one-liner to share.

Marilyn was an avid reader, every chance she got she had a book in her hand and was known to read many books at once.

She was also a talented artist and loved to draw and paint.

Marilyn was born to Sarah and James Stewart in Petrolia, Ontario on July 17, 1937, she will be joining her parents and 3 brothers, Fred, Stewart and William.

Marilyn was married to the late Wallace Miles in 1954 and raised 5 children in Wallaceburg, Ontario, Dan (Evelyn), the late Randy (Kimmie), the late Chris, the late Bill and Anne (Joe).

She has 9 grandchildren Ryan (Dana), Sarah (Joe), Christopher, Ian, Nicole (Scott), Erin (Justin), Josh (Paige), Matt (Aishia), Wes (Kelsey) and 9 great grandchildren, Kaedri, Payten, Violet, Lyla, Willow, Luna, Leo, Milo and Nora.

The stories by the nurses and PSWs at Woodingford Lodge in Tillsonburg, where she spent the last 3 years of her life, were comforting to our family and the care that was given to Marilyn thru her journey was extraordinary.

We could never express our thanks to them for the time they took with Mom and our family to help us through this.

Marilyn will be lied to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Wallaceburg with a private family service on Wednesday June 28, 2023.
