Woman arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 17, 2022, at 8:31 a.m., the police responded to a business on Nelson Street in Wallaceburg regarding a break-and-enter investigation.

Following a thorough investigation, the individuals involved, a man and a woman, were identified.

Subsequently, the woman was apprehended and charged with possession of stolen property.

She was given a court date, which she failed to attend, resulting in a warrant for her arrest.

On August 1, 2023, the 57-year-old Wallaceburg woman was located and subsequently arrested.

She was released with a future court date.

Meanwhile, the 38-year-old Chatham-Kent man is currently wanted on an outstanding warrant for the same offence.

Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend him.

Theft of an ATV

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 2, 2023, at 12:24 a.m., the police responded to a stolen vehicle investigation at a business on Queen Street North in Tilbury.

The incident was captured by the business surveillance footage, along with footage from earlier in the day, which enabled the officer to identify the suspect.

The officer had recognized the suspect from prior interactions.

At 2:29 a.m., the officer located the suspect driving on Lyon Street in Tilbury.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the suspect was subsequently arrested.

During the arrest, the suspect provided the officer with the stolen vehicle’s location, which was found near Thamesville.

Additionally, it was discovered that the suspect was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.

The 36-year-old Tilbury man was charged with driving while prohibited, theft over $5,000, and possessing stolen property.

He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions pending his court appearance scheduled for September 11, 2023.
