Man and woman arrested for bail violations
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 4:42 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that the man no longer wanted the woman at his home and requested police assistance to remove her.
During their investigation, it was discovered that the woman was bound by a release order issued by the Durham Regional Police Service, which included a condition prohibiting her from communicating or associating with the man.
Further investigation revealed that the man had been allowing the woman to reside with him despite the release order.
As a result, both individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police headquarters.
The 29-year-old Ontario woman has been charged with failing to comply with an undertaking.
She was released with conditions and a future court date of September 18, 2023.
The 32-year-old Chatham man has been charged with facilitating a breach of an undertaking.
He was released with conditions and a future court date of September 11, 2023.
Man arrested for bail violations
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 26, 2023, the man was released by the courts under conditions, one of which required him to report to the Chatham-Kent Police Service every Monday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Subsequently, on June 6, 2023, the man was released on an undertaking with the same condition.
The man continuously failed to adhere to this condition, resulting in a warrant being issued for his arrest.
On August 20, 2023, at 8:16 p.m., the officers successfully executed the warrant and apprehended the man at his residence in Camden Township.
The man was transported to police headquarters.
The 38-year-old Camden Township man was charged with failing to comply with a release order and failing to comply with an undertaking.
He was held pending a bail hearing.
Woman arrested for bail violations
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:18 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Park Street in Chatham.
Officers arrived on the scene and located the two women.
Officers learned the court released the woman on December 20, 2023, with a condition prohibiting her from communicating with the other woman.
The 26-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order.
She was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of September 11, 2023.
