Impaired driving charges laid in St. Clair Township

Lambton OPP officials allege: On September 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle driving erratically on Emily Street near St. Clair Parkway.

Upon commencing a traffic stop, officers observed a young occupant within the vehicle who was also distraught with the driver’s actions.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided two samples of breath above the legal limit.

A 36-year-old St. Clair Township man has been charged with the following:

– Operation While Impaired,

– Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) and,

– Dangerous operation.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
