Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 23, 2023 at 8:46 a.m. the Chatham-Kent Police responded to an address in Chatham for a weapons complaint.
A pedestrian observed a suspect outside of this address with a suspected firearm.
The suspect proceeded inside this building and attended a second story window.
The suspect was observed to be in possession of the firearm throughout the incident.
Police responded quickly and one person was arrested.
The suspect was identified as a 15-year-old.
They were arrested for breaching a weapons prohibition and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The accused person is a youth and their identifying information cannot be disclosed.
There was not an immediate threat to public safety and the situation has been resolved without incident.
There are no public safety concerns following the resolution of this occurrence.
