OPP officials allege: On October 2, 2023, at 1:50 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted regarding a multiple-vehicle collision on Highway 402 near Modeland Road in the City of Sarnia.
Officers attended the scene along with Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Sarnia Fire.
The driver and passenger of one involved vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Another involved individual sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Westbound lanes of Highway 402 were closed for the investigation and reopened around 1 a.m. on October 3, 2023.
