Chatham Hope Haven continues to be a place of refuge for those experiencing homelessness, precarious housing and poverty in the Chatham-Kent community.
With over 80 visitors every day, they are stretched to the limit.
General Manager Loree Bailey says that other groups in Chatham-Kent see the growing need and want to help.
“We couldn’t do this alone,” Bailey said, in a media releae.
“This community has always embraced us and our desire to help those that are really struggling.”
On October 28, 2023 there will be a free event at Hope Haven from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Local businesses have donated food and refreshments and hope to feed as many people as possible.
“We have this space that people know and trust,” Bailey added.
“We want to make the biggest impact possible on individual lives in Chatham-Kent. Through events like this, we believe we can get our message across. People love you, no matter your situation. There is always hope.”
Hope Haven is open every day from 10 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at 183 Wellington Street West in Chatham.
Donations of food, gift cards and money are always welcome and needed and can be brought to the back door during these times.
