Uninspected tattoo shop advisory issued by Chatham-Kent Pubic Health

CK Public Health officials say they have become aware of an uninspected tattoo shop and is issuing an advisory notice to individuals who have received services at the following location.

“Clients who have received a tattoo service at the above noted location are potentially at risk of contracting a bloodborne infection, including HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C,” CK Public Health officials said in a media release.

“Individuals impacted by this notice are advised to contact CK Public Health at 519.355.1071 ext. 2902 as soon as possible, as bloodborne infection testing is strongly recommended.”

CK Public Health officials added: “When considering a tattoo service, residents are encouraged to confirm that the business is inspected by the local public health authority, and compliant with infection prevention and control legislation and best practices.”
