Domestic violence investigation in Wallaceburg leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following an investigation regarding domestic violence.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. the man attended his ex-partner’s residence intoxicated by alcohol and began to argue with her over access to their child.

The man became physical and the female was assaulted, as well as a third-party female who attempted to intervene was threatened and assaulted as well.

Before police arrival, the man fled the residence with the woman’s cellphone.

As a result of the investigation, the man was located and arrested for three counts of assault, theft, possession under $5,000, and uttering threats.

The man was taken into custody and held pending a bail hearing.
