Holiday with a Hero is an annual event that brings together law enforcement, emergency services, and community partners to create a memorable holiday experience for children in our community.
Through shopping, fun activities, and the support of their heroes, the event aims to spread joy and build positive relationships within the community.
The event is set to take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
This year’s event marks a significant milestone.
It will be the first time back since the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing the community to come together and spread some much-needed holiday cheer.
The festivities will kick off at 7:30 a.m. at Walmart on St. Clair Street, where 40 deserving children will be paired with their heroes for a unique holiday shopping experience.
Each child can shop for gifts for themselves and their loved ones, guided by their assigned hero from the participating agencies.
At 8:45 a.m., the children will receive a police escort to the Bradley Center, where an array of exciting activities awaits them.
A delicious breakfast will be served, ensuring everyone has enough energy for the various fun-filled activities, including gift wrapping, exploring a bouncy castle, and participating in other surprises that will bring smiles to their faces.
The event will run until 11 a.m. when parents and guardians will begin to pick up their children from the Bradley Center.
This event aims not only to create lasting memories for the children but also to strengthen the bond between law enforcement, emergency services, and the community they serve.
Holiday with a Hero would not be possible without the generous support of our community partners, including Walmart, who have graciously provided the venue for the shopping experience, and local businesses that have contributed to making this event a success.
