GoFundMe launched for Wallaceburg family, who are in danger of losing their home

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched for a Wallaceburg family of eight, who is in danger of losing their home in two weeks.

Joan Kavanagh, the organizer for the fundraiser, said her friends Tamara and Carl Coulombe of Wallaceburg have more challenges than any couple she’s ever encountered.

“Tamara has had several surgeries including a double mastectomy due to breast cancer,” Kavanagh wrote on the GoFundMe page.

“Her cancer has recently spread to her spine and other parts of her body. Carl, who had been an extremely strong construction worker, also has cancer which affected his heart and he is no longer able to work. They are the loving parents of six beautiful children.”

Kavanagh added: “Many may remember the reports years ago about a day old baby and children being poisoned in hospital, in Ontario. Well one of their children is brain damaged due to those terrible events. Several of their other children have special needs as well (autism, developmental delays etc.) These are both very hardworking capable adults who both have life threatening illnesses that affect their ability to provide for their family. They are attentive loving parents extremely deserving of community support.”

Kavanagh said the Coulombe family are slated to be homeless in two weeks.

“Let’s work together to help this family have their home for Christmas,” she said.
