Impaired driving charges laid after a crash in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 12, 2024 at approximately 10:45 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a motor vehicle collision in Blenheim.

A 30-year-old Chatham woman was found to be operating her vehicle and collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle.

Through investigation the woman was determined to be intoxicated by alcohol and was arrested.

The accused was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide breath samples.

The accused’s breath results were in excess of double the legal limit.

The accused was charged with 80 Plus and Impaired Operation.

The accused had their motor vehicle impounded for seven days, driver’s license suspended for 90 days and released when sober with a court date.
