Station #12 – Harwich North pumper and tanker were also dispatched, along with Station #16 – Raleigh South tanker, fire officials added.

“The fire was quickly brought under control and there was no exposure damage to other buildings on the property,” fire officials said in a media release.

“The fire was accidental, caused by a wood stove. The loss of the building and contents is estimated at $60,000.”

Fire officials say there were no injuries.

“CK Fire is remining residents that wood stoves should be placed on a floor pad at least one meter away from walls, furniture, curtains, and other flammable materials,” fire officials say.

“Similarly, anything that can burn must be kept at a safe distance away from the stove.”
