Community Living Wallaceburg’s Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Roger Romses as the new Executive Director.
This appointment follows an extensive provincial search conducted by the executive recruitment firm Logic Executive Search and Workplace Solutions, Community Living Wallaceburg officials said in a media release, adding with the feedback gathered from internal and external stakeholders, which included staff, community partners and families, it was a unanimous decision to have Romses lead Community Living Wallaceburg.
Romses joined Community Living Wallaceburg as the Director, Community Living Support Operations in 2018 where he oversaw all support-related operations including Accommodations Support, Supported Independent Living, Passport Support and Individualized and Family Directed Support.
Romses took on the Acting Executive Director role in June 2023.
“As a visionary, empathetic, and opportunity focused leader, Roger is committed to empowering the Community Living Wallaceburg team to create, design and deliver support in a safe and secure environment, providing the highest level of support to the people we serve,” stated Ben Hazzard, Chair of the Board of Directors, in a media release.
“Being a collaborative member of the Wallaceburg and broader Chatham-Kent community, Roger truly believes that with the support of those around them, people can dream, believe, overcome and achieve.”
Romses holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Minor in Psychology from the University of Waterloo, with continuing education in Developmental Services and Adult Education.
He will officially assume his new role on February 12, 2024.
