Door kicking leads to mischief charges in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 10, 2024, a man was trespassed from a Pearl Crescent residence in Chatham after damaging property that belonged to the tenant.

At that time, the tenant did not wish to charge the man but wanted him removed and trespassed from the property.

On February 11, 2024 at 2 a.m., the man returned and began kicking the door causing damage to it.

Police were called to the area and located the man a short distance away.

As a result of the investigation, the 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was later released with a future court date.
