OPP officials allege: The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chatham) Detachment has issued a driver a three-day suspension following a traffic stop.
On February 18, 2024, at approximately 4:05 p.m., a member of the Chatham Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Dover Centre Line near St. Clair Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent after observing a passenger vehicle with poor driving behaviour.
The investigating officer detected signs of alcohol consumption from the driver and administered a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test, registering an Alert.
As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 45-year-old of Chatham, was charged with:
– Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
Additionally, the driver was issued a three-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).
The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive.
