With heavy hearts we announce that Anne Jarvis passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the age of 84.
Devoted and loving mother of Stephen Jarvis, Gordon (Laurie) Jarvis and James Jarvis (Susan Kilbride–McDonald).
Fondly remembered by their father William ‘Bill’ Jarvis.
Cherished grandmother to Quentin, Jillian, Larsson and Keegan. Anne is the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Boyle and a dear sister to Katherine Mollo, John Boyle and the late Esther, James and Margaret. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews in Scotland.
Anne was born in Glasgow, Scotland on July 30th, 1939 and grew up in an environment still recovering from the aftermath of World War II.
Anne finished compulsory education at the age of 15 before finding employment in Glasgow.
She enjoyed typical young adult activities such as going to the cinema, listening to music and attending social events. After getting married and having three boys, the family immigrated to Canada on September 6th, 1969 making Wallaceburg, Ontario their new home. Anne was a stay-at-home mom who kept busy chasing around 3 active young boys.
In the early 1980’s Anne started working at the local Zellers department store in the shoe department. Her warm personality and great sense of humour brought laugher and joy to those around her. Anne truly enjoyed the people she worked with. Many cherished and loving friendships were made over 20 years at the department store. After retiring Anne enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with her grandchildren and the occasional trip back to Scotland. Whether sharing a joke, offering a listening ear or simply brightening someone’s day with her presence Anne always left a positive impact on those she encountered.
