Chatham-Kent Seasonal Care Clinic concludes its operations

The Chatham-Kent Seasonal Care Clinic, located at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s (CKHA) Chatham Site, will conclude its operations on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.

In November 2023, CKHA in partnership with Chatham-Kent EMS launched the Chatham-Kent Seasonal Care Clinic to provide timely clinical services to individuals with cough, cold and flu symptoms, and other minor ailments.

The clinic’s temporary operation out of a mobile trailer at CKHA’s Chatham Site Emergency Department was intended to provide care to the public if they did not have a Physician/Nurse Practitioner or could not be seen in a timely manner by their Physician/Nurse Practitioner during the seasonal surge of cold, flu and respiratory illness.

During its inaugural operation, the Seasonal Care Clinic achieved much success in providing timely clinical services to over 1500 individuals.

This initiative contributed to conserving capacity and easing pressure in the Emergency Department at CKHA during months that typically see increased visits for seasonal illness and other mild ailments.

Both organizations look forward to continuing their partnership and collaborating in the future to address the care needs of the community.

Individuals looking for non-emergency clinical services in the community are advised to consider all options for healthcare, this includes: Visiting your Physician/Nurse Practitioner, Visiting a walk-in clinic or virtual clinic, Visiting a Pharmacist, Dialing 8-1-1 to connect with a qualified health professional who can provide health advice and information 24 hours a day / 7 days a week, Accessing online urgent care, available for residents in Southwestern Ontario at www.urgentcareontario.ca.
