The Ontario Provincial Police have received reports of a significant number of collisions on March 22, 2024, including in Chatham-Kent.
Currently, officers are being dispatched to several collisions throughout the county, including numerous on collisions on the Highway 401.
When driving in winter weather, drivers need to adopt a winter-driving mindset.
· Slow down and adjust driving to the current road, weather, and traffic conditions
· Allow for extra time to travel to destinations
· Leave extra space between vehicles
· Avoid sudden braking, accelerating, or steering
· Turn on your full lighting system – it increases your visibility to other motorists both in front and behind you
