Disturbance in Chatham leads to assault charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 23, 2024, officers responded to a disturbance on Gray Street in Chatham.

Through investigation officers learned the man assaulted the woman causing physical injury.

The man left prior to police arrival.

On March 24, 2024, at 9:43 a.m. the 37-year-old Chatham man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.

He was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and held pending a bail hearing.

As a result, the court released the man with conditions and future court date of April 17, 2024.
