The officer learned on April 5, 2024, an argument between a man and woman escalated when the man assaulted the woman.
The officer successfully contacted the man and advised of the situation.
The man agreed to turn himself in to the police.
On April 7, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., the 51-year-old Chatham man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and was arrested.
He was charged with assault and released with conditions and a future court date of May 6, 2024.
