Charges laid after a truck and train collide in Thamesville

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 1 a.m. on Saturday the Chatham-Kent Police received a call for a motor vehicle vs train accident on Base Line Road Thamesville.

The back end of the truck had been struck by the train and pushed off to the side.

A 29-year-old Port Lambton man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The Chatham-Kent Police were the initial responders along with fire and ambulance.

The drone was deployed to ensure there were no other injured parties.

The CP Police attended the scene and took over the investigation.

The Port Lambton man is to be charged under the Railway Safety Act.
