CKHA welcomes new OB/GYN

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced the addition of a new physician to the organization.

Dr. Abdulhamid Azaghdani (pronounced: Ab-Dul-Ha-Meed Ah-Zag-Dah-nee) has joined as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist (OB/GYN) in the Women and Children’s Department, hospital officials say.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Azaghdani to our clinical team and the community,” said Dr. Zeke Milkovic, Acting Chief of Staff, CKHA, in a media release.

“He is a great addition to CKHA and will help us further our commitment of delivering patient and family centered care to families in Chatham-Kent.”

After completing his medical school training in Libya in 1993, Dr. Azaghdani completed a Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the UK and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada, CKHA officials say.

Dr. Azaghdani and his family lived in Newfoundland before relocating to Qatar, where he practiced medicine for four years.

They are looking forward to calling Chatham-Kent home.

“We are so grateful to have learned about Chatham,” said Dr. Azaghdani, in a press release.

“Although the process of moving your family across the globe can be daunting, we’ve been well supported. I look forward to integrating our family into the community and serving my patients well.”

Referring physicians are encouraged to refer patients currently travelling out of town or on a wait list to Dr. Azaghdani to facilitate timely healthcare for those patients.
