“Business of the week” – Sydenham Community Curling Club

We had a great opportunity to sit with the New Manager Stacey Dobbin of the Sydenham Community Curling Club. The Community Curling Club has been a pillar of the local sports scene for six decades, and we’re thrilled to celebrate our 60th anniversary on April 20th! Over the years, they have hosted seven seasons of spirited competition, featuring four evening leagues and three day leagues, catering to everyone from retirees to shift workers. As part of their anniversary celebrations, their Gala committee has organized an unforgettable event at the club, complete with auctions and raffles to raise funds for our upcoming roof renovation, a vital project with an estimated cost of $200,000. Gala tickets are available for purchase at All Seasons Nursery or via phone or email, with the cutoff date set for April 11th. In addition to the Gala, they are running an online 50/50 draw through Rafflebox, with proceeds supporting their junior programming initiatives. But the club isn’t just about curling. The future plan is to make it a versatile venue for all sorts of events, from weddings to meetings, celebrations to music and dancing. With the fantastic bartenders ready to serve, we’re eager to welcome anyone interested in hosting their next event with us. Join them in celebrating 60 years of community, camaraderie, and curling excellence! They are also launching a summer pickleball league and has applied for a grant through the Senior Community Program to support its inception.
