Trespassing investigation in Chatham leads to charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 29, 2024, at 3:01 a.m., police responded to Wellington Street West in Chatham for a trespassing investigation.

Officers located three men.

One man was confirmed wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a 2023 threats investigation.

The second was wanted for a mischief at a William Street, Chatham establishment that had been reported on May 28, 2024.

The 42-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court and two counts of uttering threats.

The 33-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and released with a future court date.

He has been charged with mischief, theft, and possession of stolen property.
