Chatham-Kent fire officials say Stations #20 – Wheatley and #19 – Tilbury responded just after 2:30 a.m. on June 15, 2024, to 20874 Cemetery Road for a structure fire.
“Units on scene included 20-11, 20-12, 20-13,19-11, 19-12, 19-13, and 19-14,” fire officials say.
“When crews arrived, they found the fire originated in a bedroom. Firefighters took an offensive fire attack and there were no exposures.”
There were no injuries and the cause was accidental smoking, fire officials say..
The approximate loss is $400,000.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service, Chatham-Kent EMS and hydro were also on scene.
