Lambton OPP: Two sea-doos collide in Lake Huron

Lambton OPP officials allege: On Saturday June 22, 2024, at just after 8:30 p.m., members of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a minor two-vessel collision that occurred in Lake Huron, Municipality of Lambton Shores.

OPP received information stating that at approximately 7:00 p.m., two sea-doos collided in Lake Huron, just offshore of Grand Bend. OPP attended the area and were able to locate the operators of both vessels. An OPP officer upon speaking with an operator of one of the vessels, suspected the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages resulting in a roadside screening demand.

A 25-year-old individual from Kitchener, Ontario has been issued a 3 Day drivers Licence Suspension.

Both operators of the vessels were issued warnings under the Canada Shipping Act (CSA) 2001, Vessel Operation Restriction Regulations (VORR) for:

· Operating Vessel in an Unsafe Manner

All parties involved in the collision made it safely back to shore. No injuries were reported because of the collision.
