Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 24, 2024, at 4:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to Longwoods Road between Dew Drop Road and Huff’s Side Road in Thamesville for a serious motor vehicle collision.
The collision occurred when a westbound vehicle, occupied by a driver and two passengers, veered into the eastbound lane.
The vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle, occupied by a driver.
The westbound vehicle came to rest on the north side of the roadway, while the eastbound vehicle came to rest on the south side of the roadway.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the eastbound vehicle and the passengers of the westbound vehicle sustained minor physical injury.
The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 41-year-old Dresden man, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to extend our deepest condolences to the man’s family and friends during this difficult time.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service Traffic Unit is currently investigating the collision.
