The Walpole Island-Algonac Ferry issued an update on their website on Monday afternoon, July 8, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.
“Ferry service has resumed for standard size vehicles and motorcycles,” ferry officials say.
“At this time, we cannot transport large or heavy vehicles, including, trailers and motor homes. This is due to structural issues at our dock caused by a large vehicle. The ferry will continue to operate according to scheduled business hours. We will post a notification when we can resume transporting larger vehicles.”
Ferry officials added: “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank all of our customers for their patience and understanding during this time.”
