Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:16 a.m., police responded to a retail store on Communication Road in Blenheim regarding a theft and assault.
Through investigation officers learned the woman entered the store and concealed items on her person.
She attempted to leave without paying for the merchandise and was confronted by an employee.
The woman pushed pass the employee, causing them to fall.
The incident resulted in minor physical injury.
The woman left prior to police arrival but was located a short distance away.
Officers confirmed she was also wanted on a warrant related to a June 25, 2024, theft investigation in Chatham.
The 28-year-old Harwich Township woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing.
She currently faces the following charges: robbery, two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, three counts of theft, and four counts of possession of stolen property.
As a result of the bail hearing, she was remanded into custody and transported to Southwest Regional Detention Center. Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 15, 2024.
