OPP: Crash at Highway 40 and Electric Line, dash cam footage requested

OPP officials allege: Three individuals were transported to a local hospital following a motor vehicle collision.

On July 30, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., emergency services including members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, Chatham-Kent Fire and Rescue, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the OPP Chatham Detachment, responded to a collision involving two passenger vehicles at the intersection of Highway 40 and Electric Line, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

For protection of emergency responders and to facilitate the investigation a section of Highway 40 was closed temporarily but has since been reopened.

Both vehicles’ drivers and one passenger were transported to a local hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 53-year-old from Winnipeg was charged with:

– Fail to yield to traffic on through highway
