Last week Arionna Hopkins and Ferrah Blackbird represented Walpole Island First Nation well as they travelled to Regina, Saskatchewan to compete with Team Ontario for the U22 Women’s National Box Lacrosse and won Bronze medals.
Blackbird finished the tournament as leading scorer for Team Ontario and ranked 7th in the Nation for Leaders.
Blackbird also earned a Player of the Game and First Team Tournament All Star.
“Congratulations Ari and Ferrah, way to represent and continue to put Walpole Island on the map,” Walpole Island officials say.
