A 12-hour long concert is being held at the Moose Lodge in Wallaceburg on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in support of a local youth
‘Wallaceburg Rocks’ is being held to raise funds for Celine Sloan, who has been diagnosed with hemispheric polymicrogyria.
“To help the family extend Celine’s life and quality of life, we are going to do what we do best Wallaceburg,” organizers say.
“We are going to band together, get our party on and rock-out to raise money for the cause.”
The event will feature Spirit of the 60s, 40 Hours Over and the special headliner Back in Black: Canada’s ACDC Tribute.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
“We have beverages, games, vendors and more, and the best part… we are only asking for a donation to enter the space,” organizers added.
“Bring the kids, the mail man, the paper boy, your parents, partners, friends and family, we’re gonna have a blast and they shouldn’t miss out on this either.

“The unexpected and devastating news, no parent wants to hear,” Celine’s family posted on a GoFundMe page back in March.
“Dreams of a happy and healthy childhood shattered, in a blink of an eye. Late June of 2023, three-year-old Celine was diagnosed with polymicrogyria. The right side of her brain did not develop properly and she suffers with half a dozen seizures per day. Her speech is deteriorating. Celine is scheduled to undergo major testing in London with a team of surgeons to determine which surgery would be most successful in saving the left side of her brain. Celine has a long road ahead of her, as she will be required to learn how to sit, walk, talk, and eat, all over again post-surgery.”
Her family added: “All of this has taken a toll on the family; financially, mentally and emotionally. Overwhelmed parents, Rob and Adrienne, have been taking care of Celine around the clock, as well as caring for their other two children. This has resulted in a substantial decrease in earnings, as they were required to shift their time and focus from employment to pressing medical concerns.”
The family says the goal is to raise $10,000.
“These funds would be used for travelling (Wallaceburg to London), food, lodging, and missed wages,” the family says.
“In addition to monetary donations, prayers are also greatly appreciated. Celine’s mom, Adrienne expressed, “Never as a family, did we expect this, especially a three-year-old!” Despite this difficult news and these challenging times, Rob and Adrienne do their best to remain strong to care for Celine and her siblings. Sincere thanks to everyone for your love, support and generosity for this precious little girl, Celine, and her family.”
