Albert ( Bert) Flanagan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on September 10, 2024 at the age of 80.
Bert was born on April 22, 1944 in Chatham, Ontario and was the son of the late Francis “Frank” and Teresa (Moran) Flanagan.
Beloved husband of 51 years to the late Linda (nee Cartier) Flanagan (2017).
Loving father of Allan (Theresa), Lisa (Don) and Erin. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Emma, Kevin, Colin, Eileen and Libby.
Kind brother and brother-in-law of Patrick (Cathie), the late Tom (Carol) and Joan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bert was a volunteer firefighter in Port Lambton for many years, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and performed charity work for St. Vincent De Paul especially at Christmas time when he delivered baskets to the less fortunate. Bert was a pipefitter for over 50 years and a proud member of UA Local 663.
Bert loved playing cards with friends and family and vacationing in Florida.
Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, Ontario on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Port Lambton on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada or Sacred Heart Food Bank may be left at the funeral home.
