Facebook threats lead to charges in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 10, 2024, at 10:09 a.m., police began a threats investigation in Chatham.

Officers learned the man was making threating remarks to the victim via Facebook.

Further investigation revealed the man was bound by a probation order requiring him to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

At 3:49 p.m., police located the man on Lacroix Street in Chatham and arrested him.

He was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order.
