Charges laid after a robbery in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday, October 3, 2024, at approximately 6 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police received a call from a business in the area of Keil Drive South in Chatham.

Reporting that a woman had stolen several items from their store, and in the process of doing so, pushed two employees when exiting the store.

No injuries were sustained.

Upon police arrival, a woman matching the description provided by staff members, was located in the nearby area, around Warwick Drive, Chatham.

The 30-year-old Chatham woman was identified by officers from previous police involvement, and subsequently placed under arrest for one count of robbery and one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Upon arrest, the woman was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where she was processed and later released with conditions and a future court date.
