Homeward Realty entering ‘new chapter’ in Wallaceburg, transitioning to Realty House Inc.

Homeward Realty Inc. Brokerage has announced they are “moving to a new ‘house'” with Realty House Inc.

“This transition marks a new chapter for our team, and we couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities ahead,” Homeward shared on social media on Monday, October 14, 2024.

“We’re ready to serve all your Real Estate needs better than ever. Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for being a part of our journey. Here’s to new beginnings at Realty House!”

Betty Tack, the broker of record and owner on Homeward, said as the Homeward Realty office prepares to close its doors, she wanted to express her heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful years spent in the heart of Wallaceburg.

“This town has been a cherished home for us, and while change is on the horizon, I am thrilled to announce our transition to Realty House, the newest real estate company in Wallaceburg,” Tack said.

“Although I will no longer be handling administrative tasks, my commitment to serving your real estate needs with honesty, integrity, and professionalism remains unwavering, just as it has for the past 41 years.

Tack added: “We are all still here, just under a new name. Thank you for your continued trust and support during this transition.”

Kristyna Roocroft, Betty’s daughter, shared a post on their website, which describes the history of Homeward and the impact they made on the community.

“I just wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for supporting Homeward Realty over the years,” she said.

“We’re currently in our 30th year of business and WOW, what an amazing journey it has been. I recall many years ago when my mom started Homeward Realty. I watched the company grow over the years from the sidelines. I remember when they started at the apartment that was attached to Taylor’s Variety. I know many of you also remember that office. It sure doesn’t seem that long ago.”

Roocroft added: “Eventually in the mid 90’s, Homeward settled into where it is now – 134 Duncan Street in Downtown Wallaceburg. I joined the office in 2007. My mom moved me back to town on a weekend and started me at the office on a Monday. I never wanted to work in the family business, never thought I’d even stick around. My brother had just recently completed his Real Estate course and had started selling houses at the office around the same time.”

Roocroft said she never knew how much she’d love it here.

“Austin, Kevin (two Kevin’s actually), Daryl, Chico, Aunt Wenda, Carol, Gail, Bobby, Evelyn, Susan, Tom, Loreen, Karen (two Karen’s actually), Ashley & Scott… here were more that were part of our story, and trust me, they are just as important, but these names, oh my, these folks I listed here all hold a special place in my heart,” Roocroft said.

“When I had my children, I couldn’t collect maternity leave because when you work for family, that is not an option. So, both my kids spent their first year being raised here before starting daycare. River was here when he was barely a few weeks old, Ava was here as of only a few days old. I recall many of them rocking my kids to sleep, others taking turns feeding, holding, singing to them. Mom shared her office with napping babies. In retrospect, what a blessing my kids and I had. What an absolute blessing.”

Roocroft said over the years, they have lost many great ones, both from the direct Homeward family and their extended families.

“I get emotional thinking of them all,” she said.

“Great people that I will cherish memories of forever. Many local fundraisers and events were imagined, planned, and run in these walls. We’ve shared laughter and good times, good food, birthdays, celebrations, inside jokes, secrets, worries, and also scary, uncertain, and very gloomy times. Together, we helped each other through all sorts of adventures. In the end, a family we had become. We shared our home (the office) and if these walls could talk – they would verify all my thoughts and more. I wouldn’t trade it for the world!”

Roocroft said recently they have “made some tough choices on what our future looks like.

“Betty has chosen to make a change of direction with Homeward. It’s a lot to run a business. More so when your entire heart and soul is in it. So, after lots of serious discussions we came up with a solid game plan. Homeward will be coming to an end and Betty, Kevin, Ashley and Scott, will be continuing a new path together. We have chosen to trade in our famous red colour for pink. Soon you will see the team move to Realty House, who has welcomed us with open arms,” she said.

“They have even opened an office this month here in Wallaceburg for us to call HOME. Ashley, Kevin and Scott will be moving over in the new few days. Betty will be delayed slightly as she needs to finalize scheduled closings before she can officially move over. So, there will be a few weeks of adjustment. I hope that you can understand this as we work to make the changes flow as smoothly as possible. I hope when you #thinkpink you will think of the Homeward Team. The office name might change but I assure you that they will all still be your local Wallaceburg Real Estate team. I wholeheartedly believe this is the right choice going forward and hope I can count on your support throughout this transformation.”

Roocroft said she knows her mom has wanted to call every single person she has ever worked with or knowns personally, but hasn’t had the chance to do that yet.

“I told her there literally isn’t enough time in the world,” she said.

“So, if you are reading this and Betty hasn’t called you, I hope that you will understand. She will reach out to many over the coming weeks and you are more than welcome to call her as well. We all know how much she LOVES to talk! Karen, Betty and I will all be working at the Duncan Street office for a while yet. Pop in and visit! Let’s reminisce with the past as we look to the future together. Autumn is a season that teaches us how beautiful change can be. The team looks forward to being a part of your home buying or selling journey in the years to come. To new beginnings!”
