Edward “Ed” Stiff

Shocked to the core with crushed heart. I lost my big brother Ed without warning. On November 1st 2024. At the age of 66 . He was born in Chatham Ontario on April 29 1958 he was the First son born to the late Ernest and Shirley (Lozon) Stiff.

Brother to the late Dan Stiff, Ed was the oldest brother to Cindy Stiff – Deschenes

Ed was also very close to Cindy’s companion Gary Park and his daughter Kimberly Park. He left behind many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was an avid Rod Stewart fan and had every CD, he very much enjoyed listening to them. Ed was very involved in marshal arts in the 70’s 80’s or Ed’s words many decades with his close friend John Kovacs. Ed took pride in creating his own style of marshal art techniques and enjoyed teaching it to kids in our neighbourhood . Ed devotedly worked out on a regular basis. He found his inspirations in reading and seeing any and all regarding Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Lee.

He always looked forward to spending time with his life long friend John Kovacs and Johns late wife Denise and Johns families from Canada and the USA. He recently enjoyed spending his time with John and Marlene . He always spoke so highly of Johns children Brain, Nikki and Chris and their children and Johns mom Maria and sister Helen . He also enjoyed his time watching scary movies with his close friend Pat Cogghe he considered Pat like a son. Ed took pride in being Godfather to Pat and Tina’s youngest son Wyatt and enjoyed time spent with their other children Patrick and Tabatha . He also thought the world of Pats parents David and Norma Cogghe and Pats brothers Shawn and Tom. He spent many Christmas Eves and other occasions with the Cogghe family. He thought of all them as being his extended family. Ed always enjoyed reminiscing about family and friends and cousins events and bus trips with our parents and others they went on. We always found laughter in his storytelling especially the time he and our mom got lost in the Toronto air port parking lot. He loved talking about his nieces and nephews and all their funny capers. He will be so very much missed by many, he will live on in our hearts and memories. My big brother was one of a kind. Set in his ways. Ed give Ma and Dad, Dan and Denise and the rest of our family a hug for me. I will miss you beyond words (Spaghetti) I Love you.
