On November 25, 2024 we had to say goodbye to John Verstraeten ‘Whoppo’ at the early age of 56.
He will be remembered always as a devoted husband to Lisa, a loving father to Jayde-Ann (Matt), Trenton and Kanton (Haleigh) and a cherished Popps to Kallum, Stephanie and Buck.
His dog Stella will miss him greatly.
Son of the late Joseph and Sharon Verstraeten and brother of Penny.
Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and large extended family.
To ‘Johnny Whoppo’; the years of baseball, drinks in the garage and the many crazy adventures and laughs along the way will never be forgotten ~ Cheers Bud, from all your friends.
Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231), on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
His life will be celebrated at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4th at 1pm, followed by burial at the Riverview Cemetery.
As many may know, John was not a lover of flowers, so please support his love for animals in lieu of flowers by making a donation to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue or by considering donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice which may be left at the funeral home.
