Environment Canada officials issued a winter weather travel advisory at 8:09 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
“Brief burst of heavy snow and strong winds tonight,” forecasters say.
Environment Canada officials added that anticipated hazards, include:
– Brief strong westerly winds gusting up to 85 km/h.
– Brief bursts of heavy snow resulting in a quick 2 cm of accumulation.
– Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow.
The timing is tonight, forecasters say.
“A sharp line of heavy flurries will move across the area tonight resulting in brief bursts of heavy snow,” Environment Canada officials say.
“The heavy snow will combine with very strong winds to result in significantly reduced visibility at times. Motorists are advised to exercise caution. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.”
