OPP officials allege: A traffic stop led to an individual being charged for driving while impaired.
On December 13, 2024, at approximately 12:08 a.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Wellington Road, south of Dufferin Avenue in Petrolia.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Petrolia resident, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences:
– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
– Drive motor vehicle – no licence
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 9, 2025, in the City of Sarnia to speak to the charges.
