Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 1, 2025, at approximately 5:06 a.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a domestic dispute at an address on Houston Street in Chatham.
Through investigation, officers learned that a man had assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her by the throat after the two had engaged in a verbal argument.
Following the assault, the man then proceeded to throw a glass bottle at the woman’s vehicle, causing damage to it.
The 27-year-old Chatham man was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of Assault Causing Bodily Harm and one count of Mischief Under $5,000.
He was transported to police headquarters for processing, where he was later released on an Undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
