Nominations for the Black Excellence Awards are closing soon

The Black Excellence Committee, in partnership with Buxton’s Next Generation and the Buxton National Historic Site & Museum, is reminding the community that nominations for the Black Excellence Awards are closing soon.

This is an opportunity to honor individuals and organizations that have made remarkable contributions to the community.

The deadline for nominations is January 10, 2025.

The Black Excellence Awards are a celebration of achievement, resilience, and leadership within the community.

They highlight contributions from trailblazers in business, education, social justice, and the arts.

These awards are designed to inspire and recognize those who lead and uplift others.

Nominations are open to the public and can be submitted online.

To nominate someone, visit https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61554286071300 and complete the nomination form, including details about the nominee’s achievements and impact.

All nominations must be submitted by January 10, 2025.

Award categories include Female of the Year, Agriculturalist of the Year, Youth of the Year (with expanded age brackets to better represent the youth in the community), Male of the Year, Citizen of the Year, and Black-Owned Business Citizen of the Year.

The Black Excellence Awards Gala is scheduled for March 1, 2025, at the Retro Suites in Chatham.

This formal event will bring together community members, leaders, and advocates for an evening dedicated to honoring nominees and celebrating their accomplishments.
