Donald ‘Don’ Labadie

Mr. Donald “Don” Labadie, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 83.

Don was born in Wallaceburg and was a son of the late Oscar and Madeline (DeCedar) Labadie .

Beloved husband of Linda Labadie (nee Corriveau).

Loving father of Lorrie (Mark) Remington, Michelle (Henry) Lang and Steven (Rebecca) Labadie.

Sadly missed by his grandchildren Josh, Lacy, Samantha, Cassidy, Ryann and Evan and his great grandchildren Trinity, Trenton, Reece and Penelope. Kind brother and brother-in-law of Tom (Vivienne) Labadie, Carole (the late Rosaire) Lucier, Darlene Labadie and Gary (Mary Ann) Labadie. Predeceased by his daughter Deneen, his great granddaughter Tayah, his sister Bella and his brother David and sister-in-law Shirley (the late Steve) Kuni. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Don owned and operated Duchene Paints for 48 years, worked for Nicholls Funeral Home for over 20 years, was a member of the Kinsmen Club of Wallaceburg for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Our Lady of Help Council #2102 and the 4th Degree Frank A. Hyde Assembly #2600, Wallaceburg for 62 years holding the positions of, Grand Knight, Commander and Faithful Navigator. He was a devoted family man and a kind and loving friend to all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 2-6 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 11 a.m.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice or St. Vincent de Paul may be left at the funeral home.
