Matthew Baumann of Thunder Bay has won the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation’s Igniting Healthcare Holiday 50/50 draw. His ticket, CK-28075385, was drawn as the winner of the $65,200 grand prize.
After winning another hospital lottery about a year ago, Baumann was inspired to support hospital 50/50 draws across Ontario.
The foundation noted, “Fortunately for Matt, lightning struck twice and he now finds himself a two-time lottery winner!”
Here is a video of the moment he found out:
Baumann plans to use his winnings for a trip to Europe this summer.
The draw raised $130,400 in total, with proceeds supporting the purchase of a new fluoroscopy machine for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. The foundation expressed gratitude to participants, stating, “Your generosity will help us purchase a vital piece of imaging equipment that will have a profound impact on local hospital patients for years to come.”
Details about the next Igniting Healthcare 50/50 draw will be announced this spring.
