Thanks to the fantastic community support, United Way of Sarnia-Lambton has surpassed its $1,487,000 goal by $3,000.
This achievement ensures there will be no reduction in funding for our partner agencies and their invaluable community programs in the Sarnia-Lambton region, United Way officials say.
“I want to thank all United Way supporters—everyone who responded online, by mail, or in person. It truly took all of us to ensure United Way agencies remain funded, so thank-you,” stated Mike Edgar, 2024 United Way Campaign Chair, in a media release.
This success is especially unexpected, United Way officials added.
Early in December, officials said they anticipated falling short of their goal.
However, after a public appeal for support, the community came together to make a difference.
“We are so lucky to have such a caring community,” stated Pamela Bodkin, Executive Director, United Way Sarnia-Lambton, in a media release.
“United Way supporters make a profound difference in the lives of so many people in Sarnia-Lambton year after year. Whether it’s a senior giving back to the community they call home or a workplace donor ensuring Sarnia-Lambton stays strong for the next generation, United Way supporters know it takes all of us.”
