Charges laid in Lambton County after a historical sexual assault

OPP officials allege: On January 9, 2025, the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a historical sexual assault reported to have occurred between 2018 and 2021 in Lambton County.

The Lambton County OPP Crime Unit assumed carriage of the investigation.

A 67-year-old individual from the Municipality of Lambton Shores has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

– Sex assault on a person under 16 years of age (two counts)

– Voyeurism

– Indecent exposure to a person under 16 years of age

The accused was initially held in custody pending a bail hearing but has since been released.

They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on February 18, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.

A publication ban has been issued in this case; therefore, no further information will be released to protect the identity of the victim and to comply with the order.
