Firefighters ‘bravely’ battle blaze on Thomson Line near Highgate

Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue officials say yesterday evening, January 21, 2025, at 8:35 p.m., firefighters responded to a structure fire at 15810 Thomson Line, just outside of Highgate.

“Firefighters from Station #10 – Orford and Station #11 – Ridgetown bravely fought the blaze despite the extremely cold temperatures and harsh winter conditions,” fire officials said in a media release.

“Station #9 – Bothwell tanker was also called to aid in water shuttle operations. The Command Unit was present on site to offer rehabilitation and a warming station for the crews. Additionally, CK Police and EMS were on scene to provide support.”

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by fire investigators.

There we also no reported injuries.
